I wasn't going to show any photos of my back garden yet because
with temps in the high 90's for weeks things are a bit bloomed out.
BYA: Several people have asked so I will share these photos.
This starts over to the left looking down from our deck:
And then a little further over:
And then to the right:
AND THIS WAS BEFORE I STARTED - yes - one bush
in the yard and the woods and ground bushes, etc covering the back area which now is open to the creek. My husband definitely
has less lawn to mow!
Just giving you an idea of how things are now! I am
thinking that next year these areas will fill in more. I
just grew some Forget-Me-Nots from seeds and planted
them around Mr. Peter Rabbit. "Grow little plants - grow"!

Hi Bernideen, your new backyard looks good. Those trees around you must help keep the temperature down a bit. You have plenty of room to grow lots of annuals and even some veggies.
ReplyDeleteGood to see your new home.
Wishing you a wonderful weekend.
Hugs,
Aida
Wow, Bernideen, you have accomplished a lot in your gardens over a short period of time! I adore your birdhouses. Love the shape of your garden beds too - I like the curved lines. Thanks for sharing. I enjoyed seeing your backyard and look forward to seeing it grow and blossom!
ReplyDeleteYour garden looks so pretty. I have been wanting to make a new bed for weeks now, but we are having a heat wave and it is putting a stop to it right now. Hopefully next month I will be able to make it.
ReplyDeleteThings are looking good. I need to plant some forget me not seeds at this old house! Have a lovely weekend.
ReplyDeleteBeautifu! I love how you designed your flower beds! You have lots more energy then me, but I am older than you! :)

WOW - what a big change so quickly! Oh it is going to be thrilling to watch how this grows and fills in and changes along with you. I hope you never stop blogging, I will always care how you took nothing and made/making it into garden dreamscapes!
ReplyDeleteWell done, keep up the good work! What a wonderful yard you have!
Our heat is a tiny bit better today - thank goodness! I was able to get out and weed a bit and water and tend a little last evening. The weeds are still winning, the skeeterz started biting so I didn't stay out as long as needed.
Hugs! ♥
Your backyard is beautiful and such lovely trees. It's very hard to work in the garden when the temps are high. But you have done a terrific job. I can hardly wait until next year to see all the beauty you have created.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your weekend and hopefully it will cool off for you. We have had two weeks of temps over 90 and closer to 100. I sure will be glad when fall arrives.
Mary
your back yard is fabulous. Do the bunnies eat your plants like they do ours?
ReplyDeleteHow beautiful your backyard is and in just a few years it will be gorgeous! I love how your beds look and you've got lots of pretty flowers! Stay cool.
ReplyDeleteBe a sweetie,
Shelia ;)
You have worked so hard. What beautiful results!
ReplyDeleteI've been working on my gardens for 2 years now and still have more to do. Yours are coming along very nicely, XOXO
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness, your garden looks so very different from when you first moved there. It is beautiful Bernideen. You and your husband have been working very hard in such a small space of time. How lovely you have a creek at the back.
ReplyDeleteYour garden is looking so charming ♥

Bernideen, we have had one of the warmest July's ever. We usually only have 6 days in the 100's and we have had over 12. My beds look a bit tired as well. I am cutting back a lot and things are starting to come back. Easy to imagine the beauty your new garden area will be!
ReplyDeletehugs,
Jann
The transformation of your garden is amazing!
ReplyDeleteIt looks like a life-size fairy garden, Bernideen. I can't believed how much you and your hubby have accomplished in such a short time.
ReplyDeleteOh Bernideen, you are so cute! The amount of digging you have done is totally AMAZING! Love it! You are so inspiring, I have been thinking about what else to do in my small backyard, how and what to add on. I know you would have it totally done and looking beautiful if you were in charge, I think I need you to be in charge!
ReplyDeleteSee you Sunday!
