VALENTINES DAY TABLE

This is the time of year that I keep busy.
The truth is that when I am not busy,
I am bored.  I am looking for
inspiration for my coming garden
 season or making something delicious
in the kitchen (this gets me in
 trouble here).
I spend time looking at new
decorating ideas or making something.

I have been working
 on a Valentine
table:

Last year I found the middle plate but
recently I found 6 more of these
vintage Adams ENGLISH plates:

Each one has a different
couple.  Last year I found this
lovely lace old Quaker
tablecloth with cupids
and Colonial couples.

I made this tea cozy a while
back with vintage laces
and crochet:  it is available
on Etsy

Lady Madeleine and Lord
Chumley are ready
for tea:

I will use these vintage
napkins for our meal (I
will replace the fancy
ones for actual use):

Do you love setting up a
pretty table for dining?

VALENTINE TEA MENU TEMPLATES

Copy them first and with windows
fill in your own menu.  Then, print
 them out on landscape.

And here's another:

These may not be your style so you
can always design some yourself....
I am just an amateur learning!

SCONES, ANTIQUE NAPKINS AND OLD VICTORIA MAGAZINES

It was a lovely, cold but
sunny day to pour a cup
of tea and have a
yummy scone at the
kitchen table.

Last night I baked some lovely
scones which you might like to try
Scones made with this
recipe.  I got 10 scones out of
the batter cutting them with a
medium scone cutter.  I also
substituted with buttermilk.

As I shared in a previous post, we
have been enjoying the bluebirds
outside on our deck and they are
in fact flying in to feast right now.

I pulled out a stack
of the old Victoria
Magazines which
were from past
Januarys and
I have been
enjoying them.

I want to share some antique napkins I
purchased from the other side of the world.  They are tea napkins which
means they are smaller and these
are made
from Bobbin lace:

We only have a tiny bit of snow
but we have certainly had our
share of cold weather.

If you love romantic style you will find
old Victoria magazines "your cup
of tea".

Winter is the perfect
opportunity for
Friendly Village
Johnson Brothers
transferware:

I hope you are staying warm and
having a enjoyable winter.  Winter
is a helpful time to learn something
new and I enjoy all the gardening
videos on YouTube.  You can find
so many videos about England,
Tea Time and whatever hobbies
you love.

BLUEBIRDS IN THE COLD

Baby it's cold outside.  It's cold everywhere
right about now.

Really, we don't have hardly any snow
but it is cold for Missouri at 4 degrees
today.  We have enjoyed
watching 4 bluebirds coming and
going to our deck today.

And of course we always enjoy
the goldfinches.

I hope you are keeping warm
and keeping busy.  Earlier
I baked Oatmeal Raisin Cookies.

Bluebirds are not seed eaters so
I have coaxed them with mealworms.

JANUARY TABLE SETTING

Now that January is here I still
wanted to enjoy my Johnson Brothers
Friendly Village dishes so I just
changed up things a bit with different
linens and put away the red
transferware:

The table is set with a Tuscan fillet
lace tablecloth and Point de Venice
placemats and napkins.  My etched
glasses are various patterns.

I hope you are staying warm this month
as I have heard some snow may be
coming our way which is fine with me.

I have put quite a few Christmas decorations away but we are still
enjoying our tree.

As you probably know,  I love
making tea cozies from old doilies,
lace and linens.  This one is mine and
large and made from old crochet along
with an antique French Alencon lace
collar all sewn over tan fabric.

This is my original design and I
call it a "Drop In Snuggie":
